Mijas opens the Las Cañadas Water Park for the enjoyment of the little ones

The Town Hall of Mijas opened the doors of the Water Park this Monday, located in the Las Cañadas area. This facility includes a closed circuit of recycled water with various fountains and jets, as reported by the Councilor for Parks and Gardens, Daniel Gómez.

The councilor explained that continuous maintenance is carried out throughout the year on the installation, where to ensure safety, the projected waters have undergone a series of analyses to, among other things, prevent the presence of legionella.

“Last year we opened on June 13, and this year we have decided to open earlier due to the high demand, as many families were requesting it, so it is already open,” he explained.

Gómez recalled that the park features a closed water circuit, meaning all water is recycled. The facilities include specialized flooring, 1,500 square meters of fenced surface, landscaped areas, a pergola, and children's play equipment.

Usage Rules

Regarding the usage rules, it should be noted that children under three years old must always be accompanied and supervised by an adult, the use of play equipment is prohibited for those over 14 years old, as well as the use of balloons, balls, motor vehicles, bicycles, and similar items, smoking, the entry of animals, and accessing the park without footwear.

Regarding the opening hours, he reported that until the 23rd, the park will open from 15:00 to 20:00 hours, Monday to Friday, and from 10:00 to 20:00 hours on weekends. Once the children start their holidays, the facility will be open from 10:00 to 20:00 hours.

The Parks and Gardens department asks residents to make responsible use of these facilities and to wear appropriate footwear to prevent falls.
