Everything you need to know about the second edition of Bocata Fest in Málaga: sandwiches, chefs, and tickets

The Bocata Fest returns this summer to the Castillo Sohail in Fuengirola with a second edition that consolidates its commitment to creative cuisine, live music, and street culture as part of the great ecosystem of festivals on the Costa del Sol. Powered by the agri-food brand Sabor a Málaga, under the Provincial Council, the event will be held on August 6 and 7 as part of the Marenostrum Fuengirola program, gathering seven chefs who will present signature bites created exclusively for the occasion, along with international street food offerings.

The presentation included participation from the Deputy for Sustainable Economic Development, Esperanza González, the Mayor of Fuengirola, Ana Mula, the Tourism Delegate of the Junta de Andalucía, Carlos García, and the Director of GastronÓmico, Arantxa López, as well as the chefs and artists from this edition. All highlighted the growth of the festival and the role of the chefs as ambassadors of the Sabor a Málaga brand, in a format that combines local products, culinary innovation, and experiential leisure in a unique heritage site.

Top-level chefs among the participants

In this edition, the Bocata Fest will gather names like Dani Carnero, chef at Kaleja with a Michelin Star, along with Diego René (representing Kraken), Álvaro Ávila (El Nacional), Álvaro Saura (Liceo Playa), Reyna Traverso (Taquería Ensenada / Niña Bonita), Mariano Rodríguez (last year's winner with Eme de Mariano) and Alberto Vega (El Mesón de Cervantes). Overall, more than twenty gastronomic offerings ranging from author sandwiches and international street food, traveling from reinterpretations of the Andalusian cookbook to Asian or Latin American influences, with creations such as the Kaleja lamb, katsu-mollete, or truffled cheek as some of the most notable bites.

The experience is complemented by a strong musical lineup at the Escenario Fundación Unicaja, featuring performances by the Malaga bands Pop FM and 90 Roll, as well as DJ sessions, in an atmosphere enhanced with a fashion and crafts market area, entertainment, and raffles for the attendees. The festival also maintains its format of access by shifts to improve flow in the gastronomic areas, with staggered passes and stay until the closure of the venue, set around 01:30 hours.

Tickets for Bocata Fest

Tickets are available at www.bocatafest.com. General admission is priced at 6 euros, and a ticket for two costs 10 euros; both include access to the venue, concerts, and market. The Bocatera ticket can be purchased for 17 euros and includes a choice of sandwich, a pint of beer, and a collectible festival glass. Gastronomic offerings can be purchased separately within the venue.
