Candlelight in Malaga in May, candlelit concerts: tickets

The Candlelight concerts continue to fill Málaga with light and music throughout the month of May. This fifth month of 2026 comes with a lineup of tributes to great music names such as Hans Zimmer, Mozart, Chopin, and Ludovico. Iconic venues like the Gran Hotel Miramar or the Sala Unicaja de Conciertos María Cristina will become unique settings for these candlelit performances, offering a different and immersive way to enjoy live music.

The first of these is scheduled for Friday, May 8th with Candlelight: The Nutcracker, two sessions at 17:45 and 19:45 at the Sala Unicaja de Conciertos María Cristina. In addition to some of the most special classics from The Nutcracker, the musical evening will also feature a ballet performance by dancer Ana Malía, who will dance to the rhythm of the string quartet Cuarteto Spinto. Tickets are selling fast, priced from 13.50 to 37.50 euros.

The month starts this Saturday, May 9th with a tribute to Hans Zimmer at the Salón Real del Gran Hotel Miramar from 19:00 hours. The program will include famous soundtracks such as Gladiator, Dune, The Lion King, The Pacific, and Interstellar, among others, performed by the string quartet Melissando. Tickets start at 39.50 euros. Two hours later (21:00 hours), at the same venue with the same quartet, there will be a special Candlelight: Tribute to British Rock Legends featuring great hits from The Beatles and Queen. Tickets start at 18.50 euros.

For Friday, May 15th, there will be a special Candlelight dedicated to W. A. Mozart and F. Chopin at the Sala Fundación Unicaja María Cristina starting at 17:45 hours. Some of their most iconic scores will be performed by pianist Natalia Kuchaeva. Tickets start at 13.50 euros. Two hours later (19:45 hours), at the same place and with the same pianist, there will be a tribute to Ludovico Einaudi. Tickets start at 18.50 euros and will include pieces like I Giorni, Le Onde, Primavera, and Fly.

Lastly, this May there will be a never-before-seen Candlelight: The Best of Outlander in Strings. It will be on Sunday, May 24th, with a double session at 19:00 and 21:00 hours, featuring performers yet to be revealed. The program includes some of the most prominent symphonies throughout the multiple seasons of the series produced by Sony and inspired by the bestselling books of Diana Gabaldon. Tickets are very limited, starting at 17.50 euros.
