'A Day in History', 365 Key Events in Spain's History

With an episode dedicated to the uprisings of May 2, 1808 in Madrid, this Saturday at 10:00 PM, ... on the History Channel, 'A Day in the History of Spain', a ambitious self-produced series that covers, throughout the 365 days of the year, the key events that marked the trajectory of our country, airing each episode on the same date they occurred.

"Spain not only made history, it opened it to the world. As a crossroads of civilizations and a bridge between cultures, its past constitutes a universal legacy that deserves to be remembered and transmitted with rigor," the network states. In this context, 'A Day in the History of Spain' offers an approach based on facts, with a "swift and accessible narrative that transforms historical dissemination into a close and contemporary experience".

The program is presented by José Carlos Gracia, creator and director of the award-winning podcast 'Memories of a Drum,' a reference in historical dissemination in Spain, who makes his television debut translating his method of narrating history based on rigor, closeness, and narrative pace into the audiovisual format. In total, the project offers more than 20 hours of content, spread over 365 episodes that focus on a specific date to rescue an event or a character that helps to better understand the history of our country.

In the early days, the program will address key events in the History of Spain such as the publication of Don Quixote de la Mancha, the beginning of the Spanish War of Succession, or the Conversion of Recaredo in the year 589, among others.

The space is also born with an educational vocation since the History Channel makes the chapters of the series available to the teaching community as a support tool in the classroom, facilitating access to the episodes through the website, where teachers can download the episodes in advance and thus share all the anniversaries with their students on the corresponding day.
