La Peste – Historical Comedy in Málaga

La Peste transports the audience to 17th-century Málaga during one of the deadliest outbreaks in the city’s history. Produced by Historia Viva Málaga, the historical comedy follows young lovers Miguel Durán and Elena Moreno as they try to survive in a city dominated by fear, religious tensions and the Spanish Inquisition.

Through characters including the plague doctor, bishop, city official and ganapán, the show explores how epidemics were understood, how authorities reacted and how victims were buried, combining historical storytelling, theatre and humour.
