Rincón de la Victoria will award the Silver Anchovy to Pastora Soler.
The event will take place on Thursday, January 23 at the Gala del Boquerón Victoriano, which is held, as every year, within the framework of FITUR. The actor from Malaga, Pablo Puyol, will receive the fifth Boquerón de Plata Award 2024.
Rincón de la Victoria/Rincón de la Victoria will honor the Andalusian singer Pastora Soler with the Silver Anchovy, the highest distinction awarded by the City Council in the field of tourism. The award will be presented at the Gala del Boquerón Victoriano on Thursday, January 23, during the International Tourism Trade Fair (FITUR) held in Madrid.
The mayor of Rincón, Francisco Salado, explained the decision: “Pastora Soler embodies everything that this distinction represents. She is a prominent figure in her profession, with 30 years of professional career and great successes, which endorse her as such. Moreover, she is an Andalusian who loves Rincón de la Victoria, where she is often seen and where she has family ties. Without a doubt, she is a great ambassador of our land and, for all these reasons, she is more than deserving of this distinction.”
In this regard, the councilor for Tourism, Antonio José Martín, added that “Soler had to be on the list of those awarded the Silver Anchovy because her ties with Rincón de la Victoria are numerous: artistic, as she has performed on various occasions in our municipality, but also personal, as she has a strong connection with La Cala del Moral. And not just because of her family or because she loves walking along the cliffs. In fact, she was even the herald of the Exaltation of the Mantilla of Estrella del Alba in 2012.”
Thus, Pastora Soler becomes the sixth person distinguished with this award following the actor Salva Reina, film director Salvador Calvo, model and presenter Remedios Cervantes, singer Diana Navarro, and actor Pablo Puyol. All with a strong connection to Rincón de la Victoria.
For her part, the artist expressed her joy upon receiving the news. “I am filled with pride and happiness to receive such a representative and important award from a land that I adore, where I have spent many happy summers and where I always want to return. Thank you very much,” said Soler.
Career of Pastora Soler
The Sevillian Pilar Sánchez Luque, which is the real name of Pastora Soler, has been celebrating her 30 years as a singer since this past 2024. Her career has earned her, among other accolades, the Medal of Andalusia of the Arts, Golden Microphone, two Music Awards, and nominations for the Latin Grammy.
“As a 15-year-old girl, I began my career as Pastora Soler, recorded my first album, which was released in September 1994. Now, 30 years later, I could not be more satisfied and proud to continue making the dream of my life a reality, and the most exciting thing is that I still have many concerns and goals to reach, but always with the motto of enjoying the journey and living each opportunity with the enthusiasm of that girl who was starting,” Soler explained on her personal website.
Her participation in television is also frequent as an advisor or judge on various musical programs such as Tierra de Talentos, La Voz, or La Voz Kids, in addition to having important musical collaborations with prominent figures such as Alejandro Sanz, David Bisbal, Vanesa Martín, or Manuel Carrasco.
The Gala del Boquerón Victoriano, where the Silver Anchovy will be awarded to Pastora Soler, will take place next Thursday, January 23, 2025, at the Wellington Hotel & Spa Madrid.
