Traditional Soup, Classic Cars and Free Jazz: A Full Saturday in Ojén

Three Different Experiences in Central Ojén

Ojén will combine traditional food, historic vehicles and live music on Saturday 12 September 2026. The entire programme will take place in and around Plaza de Andalucía, allowing visitors to enjoy three different attractions without leaving the centre of the village.

The day begins at 2:00 p.m. with the second Sopa Ojeneta celebration. A classic car display will provide another afternoon attraction before the Jazz Festival begins at 8:00 p.m.

Free Traditional Soup Tasting

The first part of the event will celebrate one of Ojén’s traditional dishes. Sopa ojeneta is prepared with ingredients including garlic, tomatoes, peppers, onions, salt cod, clams and stale bread.

Residents and visitors will be able to taste the soup free of charge from 2:00 p.m. Karaoke and a selection of popular songs will accompany the food and create a lively atmosphere in the square.

This will be the second edition of an initiative created to preserve and promote a recipe closely connected to Ojén’s home cooking traditions.

Ojén’s First Classic Car Gathering

Motoring enthusiasts will find another major attraction at Ojén’s first Classic Car Gathering.

A selection of historic vehicles will be displayed around Plaza de Andalucía and its surrounding streets. Visitors will be able to view the cars at close range and discover models from different periods of motoring history.

As the display takes place beside the food celebration, it can easily be included in a walk through the centre of the village.

Free Jazz to End the Day

The 11th Ojén Jazz Festival begins at 8:00 p.m., with free admission. The concerts will take place outdoors in Plaza de Andalucía.

This year’s line-up features Masha Ocean 4tet and Valentín Murillo Grupo. The two acts will bring the day to a close with an evening of live music following the afternoon’s traditional food and classic cars.
