Fuengirola to host the 2nd Summer Bullfighting Campus from 27 July to 1 August
Málaga Provincial Council is promoting a new edition of this training initiative, which will include talks, practical bullfighting classes and a night-time final session to close the programme.
Fuengirola will host the second edition of the Summer Bullfighting Campus, an initiative organised by Málaga Provincial Council together with the Costa del Sol Bullfighting School and Asociación La Torería, in collaboration with Fuengirola Town Hall.
The event will take place from 27 July to 1 August and will bring together students from bullfighting schools across the province, as well as young people and enthusiasts interested in learning more about bullfighting culture from an educational perspective.
Tribute to Antonio Ordóñez
This second edition will pay tribute to bullfighter Antonio Ordóñez, marking the 75th anniversary of his alternativa, the ceremony through which a bullfighter becomes a full matador.
The programme will combine theoretical and practical activities with the participation of professionals linked to the bullfighting world.
The talks will be held at the El Boquetillo municipal office from 10 am to 12.15 pm. Participants will include matadors Luis Francisco Esplá, Francisco Rivera Ordóñez and Paco Ceballos, along with journalists, breeders and specialists.
Practical classes at Fuengirola bullring
The practical section of the campus will take place at Fuengirola bullring, where bullfighting training sessions will be held from 6 pm to 9 pm.
These sessions will be coordinated by matador Luis Reina and will involve teachers from different bullfighting schools in Málaga, including Fernando Cámara, José María Fijo “El Ciento”, Javier Orozco and Jesús Márquez.
The campus will conclude on Saturday 1 August at 9 pm with a night-time practical class featuring students from the Costa del Sol Bullfighting School.
