‘Composiciones 2/3’ brings theatre, music and poetry of the Generation of ’27 to Torremolinos

Parque de la Batería in Torremolinos will host the premiere of Composiciones 2/3 on Saturday 18 July, a stage production that combines theatre, music and poetry in tribute to the Generation of ’27.

The show is promoted by Málaga Provincial Council through the Centro Cultural Generación del 27 and is organised in collaboration with Torremolinos Town Hall. The production is by Málaga-based company Producciones Alfresquito, with script and direction by Virginia Nölting.

An imagined encounter with leading figures of the Generation of ’27

Composiciones 2/3 offers a poetic journey in which different voices from Spanish culture meet on stage through memory, emotion and artistic creation.

The production brings together figures such as María Zambrano, Federico García Lorca, Rafael Alberti, Josefina de la Torre and María Teresa León, creating a theatrical space where their ideas, verses and sensibilities are brought into dialogue through imagined scenes.

Music will play an essential role in the performance, accompanying the dramatic action and reinforcing the evocative tone of a piece designed to bring the legacy of the Generation of ’27 closer to today’s audiences.

Torremolinos and the memory of the Generation of ’27

The choice of Torremolinos as the setting is closely linked to the town’s historical connection with the Generation of ’27 and some of its key figures, as well as its place within Málaga’s broader cultural landscape and the legacy of Revista Litoral.

The premiere forms part of the programme promoted by Málaga Provincial Council ahead of the centenary of the Generation of ’27, an anniversary that is inspiring new theatrical, literary and musical initiatives across the province.
